USBankingHolidays.com answers one practical question: is the banking system open on a given day, and if not, what happens to your money? The site shows the Federal Reserve holiday schedule, today’s status, the next holiday, and how a closure affects ACH payments, wire transfers, direct deposit and business-day deadlines.
What you will find here
- Live status. Are banks open today? shows the Federal Reserve status for today, tomorrow and the next seven days.
- Calendars by year. The bank holidays by year page compares 2026 to 2032, and the year pages list every date with the business days per month.
- Holiday guides. One guide per holiday explains what closes, what stays open, and what happens when the holiday falls on a weekend.
- Payments. The payments section explains how holidays affect ACH, wires, direct deposit and instant payments.
- Tools. The business days calculator adds business days to a date or counts them between two dates, skipping Federal Reserve holidays.
Where the dates come from
Holiday dates come from the Federal Reserve’s published schedule. For years the Federal Reserve has not published yet, we calculate the dates from federal law and mark them as calculated. The page How we verify describes the sources and checks in detail.

USBankingHolidays.com is an independent information service. It is not affiliated with the Federal Reserve, any government agency or any commercial bank, and it does not give financial or legal advice.
